Small Goals, Big Dreams

Trauma seems to be all about broken connections.

Connection is broken with the body/self, family, friends, community, nature, and God.

Trauma and our responses to it cannot be understood outside the context of human relationships… The most traumatic aspects of all disasters involve the shattering of human connections. And this is especially true for children.

Likewise, it seems, healing trauma is about restoring these connections.

Rebuilding trust, regaining confidence, returning to a sense of security and reconnecting to love are all instrumental in healing our hearts, our brains, our bodies.

The bond between people is vital because it helps us heal over time. Knowing the power of connection, we can build healing connections that support our healing and growth with ourselves and God and each other.

This is my healing goal for the week. Share yours below!
