Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder

I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.

Jewel: Being a follower of the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob means that I do not have to do life alone. It means that through my surrender He is both the God in front of me and the God behind me.

I found myself struggling yesterday. I had a disturbing dream that I couldn’t shake. I knew it held truth. It was more abuse at the hands of my brother. I thought I wouldn’t have to stop and feel it.

I was wrong.

I heard God say in my floundering, “I am behind you.” I thought, “What the heck does that mean.”

God I know is in front of me, but behind me? I had never thought of it that way.

Behind me when I want to give up. Behind me when I truly start losing the battle to believe. Behind me pushing me forward when my steps are weak.

Gem: Psalms 139:5–6 “You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me.”

Metaphorical Gunpowder: When I am not enough and my strength begins to fail me, God sets His course to push me on. I love that.

Leave your jewel, a gem or something you kept yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder.

Happy Saturday!
