Jewels, Gems & Gunpowder
I would love to hear from you! Sharing Saturday with you.
A Jewel: It is April 6th here in Montana and there is a light dusting of snow on the ground. I love the weather here. It’s unpredictable, comes and goes quickly — it reminds me much of myself. Radical and safe. Strong and soft.
A Gem: In Mark 14:36 Jesus was in the garden of Gethsemane before his crucifixion “And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you. Remove this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”
Abba, Father. Many speculate the meaning of this term. Some say it’s like saying Daddy. All agree it is a term of intimacy with your father.
That almost abhors me. My father, my daddy as I had to call him, did miserable things to me for almost two decades. That’s a long time to learn to dispise someone. I didn’t hate him because I didn’t want to be anything like him.
Abba, Father, my teacher and guide in heaven, teach me what it means to be intimate with you. Take my fear away and hold me — closely until I learn your touch is tender, kind, polite, holds humor, and wants the best for me.
Metaphorical Gunpowder: With all the will I can muster, I choose you Abba, Father, over and above all things. Daddy, have your way with me. I need your guideance on what that means. Those words, “Daddy, have your way with me” terrify me. No fear lives in your kingdom — remove that sword from my soul.
All Love!
Please comment below by leaving your jewel, a gem or something you keep yourself free from with metaphorical gunpowder.
All love!
