Deliver Me

We don’t use this phrase often, but the bible does. The word deliver is a verb and means, provide (something promised or expected).

I needed to be delivered from so many things. An abusive childhood, an awful marriage, addiction, depression, fear — I could go on and on. I needed deliverance.

DELIVERANCE, n. 1. the action of being rescued or set free.

The people who hurt me were absolutely never going to help me. And, help I needed! It was God that taught me freedom. I came to him just as I was — helpless and needy. I didn’t hide my dirty parts that were tainted now with my own choices and he helped me not hide my past.

He’s such a cool God.

My heart was wounded within me. Modalities of healing help but they cannot heal a broken heart. Only God can do that.
